Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Angola Petroleum website, content, data, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. Angola Petroleum reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any modification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply.
“Angola Petroleum,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operators and publishers of the Angola Petroleum intelligence platform.
“Content” refers to all text, data, analysis, reports, images, graphics, tables, charts, maps, and other materials published on or through the Platform.
“User,” “you,” and “your” refer to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform.
“Subscription” refers to any paid access arrangement that grants enhanced or premium access to Content on the Platform.
“Intellectual Property” refers to all copyrights, trademarks, trade names, domain names, patents, trade secrets, and other proprietary rights associated with the Platform and its Content.
Access to the Platform
Angola Petroleum provides access to the Platform on the following terms.
Free Content. Certain Content on the Platform is available without charge to all users. Free Content may include selected articles, glossary entries, data summaries, and other materials designated by Angola Petroleum as freely accessible. The availability and scope of free Content is determined at our sole discretion and may change at any time.
Premium Content. Certain Content on the Platform is designated as premium and is available only to users with a valid Subscription. Premium Content may include in-depth analysis, proprietary data sets, downloadable reports, and other materials designated by Angola Petroleum as premium. Access to premium Content requires registration and payment of applicable subscription fees.
Registration. Access to certain features of the Platform, including premium Content, newsletter subscriptions, and report downloads, may require you to create an account by providing your name, email address, and other information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete registration information and update your information promptly if it changes.
Account Suspension and Termination. Angola Petroleum reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that Angola Petroleum determines is harmful to the Platform or other users.
Intellectual Property
All Content published on the Platform is the intellectual property of Angola Petroleum or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The following restrictions apply to your use of our Content.
No Reproduction Without License. You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, display, perform, modify, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit any Content from the Platform without the prior written consent of Angola Petroleum, except as expressly permitted under these Terms or applicable law.
Personal Use Exception. You may view, download, and print individual pages or articles from the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use, provided that you do not modify the Content, do not remove any copyright or attribution notices, and do not use the Content in a manner that suggests endorsement by Angola Petroleum.
Institutional Use. Organizations with valid institutional Subscriptions may use Content in accordance with the terms of their Subscription agreement, which may include rights to internal distribution, inclusion in internal reports, and other uses specified in the agreement.
Attribution. When referencing or citing Content from Angola Petroleum in your own work (to the extent permitted), you must provide proper attribution, including the title of the article or data set, the author name, the publication date, and a link to the original content on our Platform.
Trademarks. “Angola Petroleum” and associated logos, trade names, and branding elements are trademarks of Angola Petroleum. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent, except for purposes of accurately referencing our Platform in editorial or academic contexts.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following uses are prohibited.
Automated Access. You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated tools to access, index, or download Content from the Platform without prior written consent from Angola Petroleum. This prohibition includes but is not limited to web scraping, data mining, and automated data collection activities.
Commercial Redistribution. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute Content from the Platform to third parties without a valid license agreement from Angola Petroleum.
Circumvention. You may not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, access control, or technical protection measures used by the Platform to restrict access to premium Content or other restricted features.
Misrepresentation. You may not misrepresent your identity, your affiliation, or the nature of your access to the Platform. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent access limitations or subscription requirements.
Interference. You may not interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform, including through the introduction of viruses, malware, or other harmful code, the generation of excessive traffic or requests designed to overload our servers, or any other conduct that disrupts the Platform’s operation or the experience of other users.
Illegal Use. You may not use the Platform or its Content in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
Disclaimers
No Investment Advice. The Content published on the Platform is intended for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, or any other form of professional advice. Angola Petroleum is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner. You should not rely on our Content as a basis for investment decisions or any other financial, legal, or business decisions without first consulting qualified professional advisors.
No Warranty of Accuracy. While Angola Petroleum makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and reliability of its Content, we do not warrant that any Content is complete, accurate, current, or error-free. Data published on the Platform may be based on estimates, projections, or assumptions that may prove to be incorrect. Angola Petroleum disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any Content.
No Warranty of Availability. Angola Petroleum does not warrant that the Platform will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or free of errors or defects. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Platform at any time without notice.
Forward-Looking Statements. Content on the Platform may contain forward-looking statements regarding future production levels, prices, fiscal outcomes, corporate strategies, and other matters. Forward-looking statements are inherently uncertain and actual outcomes may differ materially from those projected. Angola Petroleum disclaims any obligation to update forward-looking statements to reflect subsequent events or developments.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Angola Petroleum and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Platform or its Content, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or any other commercial or economic loss, even if Angola Petroleum has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain types of damages, Angola Petroleum’s liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
The total aggregate liability of Angola Petroleum for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total amount of subscription fees paid by you to Angola Petroleum in the twelve-month period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
Subscription Terms
The following additional terms apply to users who subscribe to premium content or services on the Platform.
Subscription Period. Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis, as specified at the time of purchase. The subscription period begins on the date of purchase and continues for the duration selected, unless terminated earlier in accordance with these Terms.
Automatic Renewal. Unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the current subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew for an additional period of the same duration. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee at the time of renewal. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at info@angolapetroleum.com.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel during a subscription period, you will continue to have access to premium content until the end of the current period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.
Refund Policy. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except in the following circumstances: if you experience a material service interruption that prevents you from accessing premium content for a prolonged period (more than seven consecutive days) due to a fault on our part, or if required by applicable consumer protection law. Refund requests should be submitted to info@angolapetroleum.com.
Price Changes. Angola Petroleum reserves the right to change subscription fees at any time. Price changes will be communicated to existing subscribers at least 30 days before the start of the next renewal period. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the renewal date.
Content Availability. Angola Petroleum does not guarantee that specific content, features, or data sets will be available on the Platform at all times or that any particular analysis will be published on a specific date. We reserve the right to modify, remove, or reorganize content at any time.
User-Generated Content
If you submit any content to the Platform — including comments, feedback, data corrections, or guest article submissions — you grant Angola Petroleum a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that content in connection with the operation and promotion of the Platform. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your submitted content does not infringe any third-party rights.
Angola Petroleum reserves the right to review, edit, or reject any user-generated content at its sole discretion. We may remove content that violates these Terms, is inaccurate, is defamatory, or is otherwise objectionable.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Angola Petroleum and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law or regulation, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
Data Accuracy and Corrections
Angola Petroleum makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all content published on the Platform. However, data published on the Platform may be based on estimates, projections, third-party sources, or assumptions that may contain errors or may change over time. Angola Petroleum does not warrant that any data is complete, accurate, or current.
If you identify an error in any data or content published on the Platform, we encourage you to report it to us at info@angolapetroleum.com. We will investigate reported errors and, where warranted, correct the published content. However, Angola Petroleum has no obligation to verify the accuracy of any data prior to publication or to correct any data after publication, except as required by applicable law.
Users should independently verify any data obtained from the Platform before using it for decision-making purposes. Angola Petroleum shall not be liable for any damages arising from reliance on data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
Modifications to the Platform
Angola Petroleum reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Platform at any time, including but not limited to the availability of content, features, data sets, and services. We may make changes to the Platform’s design, functionality, or content organization without prior notice.
If we discontinue a premium feature or service for which you have paid, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of your subscription period, unless the discontinuation is due to circumstances beyond our control (such as regulatory changes or force majeure events).
Force Majeure
Angola Petroleum shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, epidemics or pandemics, government actions or regulations, internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, or other force majeure events.
Third-Party Links and Content
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content that are not owned or controlled by Angola Petroleum. We do not endorse, monitor, or assume responsibility for any third-party content or services. Your interactions with third-party websites and services are governed by the terms and policies of those third parties, and you access them at your own risk.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Angola Petroleum is registered, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of a recognized international arbitration institution, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. The language of arbitration shall be English.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Angola Petroleum regarding your use of the Platform and supersede any prior agreements, communications, or understandings on the subject matter.
